Yukon’s Julie Watson – Mom of the Month – Presented by Guarantee Abstract Co.

Yukon mother of three, Julie Watson, has been heavily involved with athletics at Yukon High School for the past eight years. Watson has been president of the booster club for the boys and girls soccer teams for the past three years.

“We coordinate all the different fundraising activities,” Watson said. “We help with senior night, homecoming, and banquets. We run concession and pack snacks for kids for away games.”

Watson’s oldest son, Kendall, graduated from Yukon in 2017, where he played soccer and ran cross country. Kendall started his senior year for the Millers as a defender. This spring, Kendall plans to graduate from Oklahoma Christian with a degree in sports wellness.

Cody is Kendall’s younger brother, who also played on the Yukon soccer team all four years. Cody was an all-state center back and also played on the Millers’ football team as an all-district kicker. Cody is a freshman at Missouri Western State, where he is a kicker on the football team and is majoring in criminal justice. Watson’s youngest, Sydney, is a freshman at Yukon, where she plays on the Lady Millers’ soccer squad.

Watson has enjoyed not only being a part of her own kid’s soccer careers but working with hundreds of Yukon kids throughout the years.

“I want all the kids who want to play soccer to be able to if they can keep their grades up,” Watson said. “I want them to play whether they can afford to or not. So, our goal is to be able to raise enough money, so everyone can play without having to spend a lot of extra money. It’s something our kids love and are passionate about, so I enjoy helping them out and making sure things run smoothly.”

Watson and her husband also graduated from Yukon High School.
