Oklahoma Christian School’s Jayme Peach – Mom of the Month – Presented By Guarantee Abstract

By Derrick Smith

A kid’s involvement in athletics can be a positive for a variety of reasons. They not only learn how to better play a sport, but they also learn how to be coached. Jayme Peach says that it also helps keep them from making bad decisions.

“When kids are in sports, they are busy,” she stated. “When kids stay busy, they stay out of trouble. I also believe that being a part of a team is an important part of growing up. You learn to trust and work with others, which are important skills to have in the future.  I also love watching my kids play sports. I’m very lucky that I’m able to attend most of their games, and I don’t take it for granted.”

Peach and her husband, Josh, have two students that attend Oklahoma Christian School.

“Kennedy is a junior and a member of the volleyball team,” Jayme said. “She is smart, kind, loyal, and loves her family, friends, and Jesus. She is an outgoing child for sure. Our son Krew is in the fifth grade. He plays on the Saints basketball team and plays wide receiver for the Saints football team.  Krew is smart and quiet, but very athletic and helpful to everyone. Josh practices law in Oklahoma City and is the assistant coach for both of Krew’s teams.”

Both Jayme and Josh try to be as involved as they can be with their children’s athletics.

“Josh helps coach, so I try to help when it is possible,” Jayme said. “I am in charge of the senior night for the volleyball team, and I enjoy helping with food setup at the tournaments. We are also members of the booster club, which is an important organization at OCS. They raise money to provide equipment, services, and supplies for our athletic department, and I am so grateful for that program.”

Jayme is a registered nurse that works at a local hospital. She says while the past year or so has been tough, she is glad to be able to help people.

“I am a registered nurse which, during these times can be challenging,” she stated. “I love what I do and consider myself lucky to be able to help people.”
