A new team and a new scheme is the order of the day for Southmoore. Head coach Jake Monden is ready to build this program from the ground up. “The Southmoore Sabercats are looking to build off a very strong spring, and summer regiment. The amount of buy-in by the players, and coaches has been an extreme turnaround of the new attitude, and mentality. SHS football is looking to improve weekly going into and during the 2022 campaign,” said Monden. VYPE Top 100 nominee Marcus Means (5-9, 190, Sr.) is a talented running back who is expected to have a great season. Brennan Mason (5-11, 159, Sr.) is another upperclassman starting for the Sabercats. Mason will play receiver on offense. Brody Sanchez (5-11, 185, Sr.) will quarterback the offense which will run multiple formations, lots of motion and run a wide open and efficient philosophy. Skyler Mayer (6-2, 200, Jr.) is a big-play wide out with a distinct advantage over most of the DBs he will face this season. Jacob Clay (6-0, 255, Jr.) and James Thompson (6-4, 287, Jr.) are up front and ready to get this unit rolling.
