Bridge Creek Bobcat Football Preview 2022 – Presented By The First National Bank & Trust Co.

LARRY SPANGLER

2-8

OFFENSE

Entering his first year leading Bridge Creek, head coach Larry Spangler knows this will be a rebuilding year. With several young players expected to get playing time though, Spangler is hoping any growing pains felt this year will help prepare his Bobcats for the future. Offensively, Bridge Creek will use the flex bone as their base. Spangler says the flex bone allows the coaches to get their best players on the field at the same time. The Bobcats will run a lot of misdirection plays and the pass game will feature high percentage throws. Leading the Bridge Creek offense will be VYPE Top 100 running back Jose Martinez (5-10, 165, Jr.). Joining Martinez in the backfield is Ryan Place (5-10, 180, Jr.). Spangler says Place is one of the hardest workers he’s been around and is a team leader that is always pushing to do more. Out wide, Parker Vansycle (5-11, 175, Jr.) will look to make plays in the pass game for Bridge Creek. Beu James (6-1, 180, So.) is expected to be in the mix to start at quarterback. James has good speed and quickness. Spangler also says James has good arm strength and can put the ball on target.

DEFENSE

Defensively, the Bobcats will use a 4-3 as their base defense. Spangler wants his defense to play aggressive, trust their reads, and find the ball. Ryan Place is one of the leaders of this defense from his linebacker position. Spangler says that Place is versatile, so he could see playing time at a few different spots this season. Kaden Morrow (6-1, 175, Jr.) is a talented defensive back that Spangler says has improved this offseason. Joining Morrow in the defensive backfield is Elijah James (6-0, 160, Jr.). James had a strong sophomore campaign and will look to build on that success this season. Along the line Shane Lundy (6-0, 185, Sr.) and Jacob Layton (6-1, 230, Jr.) will look to control the line of scrimmage and create havoc in the backfield. Assisting Spangler this year are Jay Chase, Braxden Turner, Cody Weaver, Drew Wortham, and Christian Dedmon.
