Noble’s Chrissy Marsee – Coach Spotlight – Presented By Oklahoma Educators Credit Union

By Derrick Smith

Coaching is a sport that is not for the faint-hearted. While there are the great times after a win, there are also tough times after a loss and helping your team work harder to get better and get back out there and try to get back on the winning track. Coach Chrissy Marsee says that though she enjoys sports, she equally enjoys helping her athletes along the way.

“My favorite part of coaching is mentoring athletes,” she said. “Sports provide a platform to teach life skills. Being a part of helping athletes set goals and seeing them not only achieve those goals but challenge themselves even further is the greatest part of coaching.”

Marsee is the  head volleyball coach and assistant girl’s track coach at Noble High School. While Marsee enjoys the game of volleyball, she did not set out to be a head coach in the sport.

“I have always loved the sport of volleyball,” the coach said. “When I started my teaching career they needed a volleyball coach and I was excited to take on the position. One of my greatest coaching mentors is Brandy White. She is one of the directors for Oklahoma Premier Volleyball. She has seen me through the highs and lows over the last nine years. She has always challenged me to grow and learn as a coach.”

Throughout her coaching career, Marsee has enjoyed a lot of memorable moments with her team. But she said that there is one thing that she enjoys the most and always looks forward to each season.

“I will always cherish senior nights,” she stated. “There have been several seasons that I’ve had the honor of coaching an athlete for four to six years. When senior night comes, celebrating with them as they move into the next chapter in their life is priceless.”
