Piedmont Wildcats Girls Basketball Preview – Presented By Rogers Karns Shelter Insurance

Coach: Eric Carr
21-22 Record: 14-10

Head coach of the Lady Wildcats Eric Carr enters his fifth year leading the way for Piedmont and is optimistic about his team’s chances this season in Class 5A competition. “We return our top seven kids from last year,” Carr said. “We have a lot of experience and expect to be a contender.” Jillian Crawford (5-9, Sr.) is a three year
starter and has lots of experience under her belt. As a freshman Crawford was the team’s sixthman and has become a team leader over the years. Crawford has been
a significant contributor for Piedmont on two state tournament teams and looks to be a leading scorer this season. As a junior Crawford was recognized as a first team conference player. Crawford gets the job done on both ends of the floor with the ability to lock down opposing players and can score the ball at will. Look for her to have a tremendous senior season. Khloe Carr (5-6, Sr.) is another three year starter

in Piedmont. Carr brings a toughness to the floor and has a soft shooting touch and the ability to stretch the floor on the offensive end. “Khloe is a very smart player and was our second leading scorer the past two seasons,” coach Carr said. “She was first team all conference as a sophomore and was second team last year.” Rylie Burnett (5-6, So.) made her presence known as a freshman and was recognized as the conference newcomer of the year. Burnett started every game as a freshman and coaches expect her sophomore year to be even more impressive. Look for Burnett to become a team leader over the next several years. Ella Watkins (5-10, Sr.) has great size in the post and has the ability to shoot the ball from deep which creates mismatch opportunities. Watkins brings great energy and defends and rebounds the
ball very well. Other players to look for include: Lindsey Scott (5-10, Fr.), Kaylie Marshall (5-9, Sr.), Lily Anderson (5-7, Sr.), Lani Sanders (5-5, Sr.), Macy Lee (5-6, Sr.), Averie Alfaro (5-2, Fr.), Ava Watkins (5-10, Fr.), Destiny Duffy (5-6, Fr.), Maci Bird (5-5, Fr.), and Aire’l Vazquez (5-8, Jr.).
