Shawnee Area Football “Super 7″– Editor’s & Fan’s Choice – Presented By The Clinic Pharmacy

EDITOR’S CHOICE

These are the top seven players in the Shawnee area hub, ranked by VYPE editors regardless of position.

#1 Corey Metscher – RB/LB – Senior – Bethel

Metscher nevers leaves the field for Bethel. Last season he rushed for 819 yards, scored 11 touchdowns, made 102 tackles and caught 29 passes for 226 yards. His production is off the charts.

#2 Bryce Bodkin – QB – Senior – Maud

Possibly the best dual-threat quarterback in Oklahoma, Bodkin accounted for 2,000 yards passing, 1,000 yards rushing and 37 touchdowns. Do yourself a favor and go watch this kid.

#3 Jaylon Orange – RB/FS – Senior – Shawnee

A four-year starter who has gone both ways his entire career at Shawnee, Orange will look to add to the 1,600 yards, 22 touchdowns, 71 tackles and four INTs he recorded last season.

#4 Clint Campbell – RB/DE/OLB – Junior – McLoud

Campbell rushed for more than 1,000 yards last season with 15 touchdowns. This season Campbell will go both ways taking up residence at defensive end/outside linebacker.

#5 Lane Williams – OL/DL – Senior – Shawnee

The big man is dominant on either side of the ball. Williams has the tools to be a next level player on either offense or defense. Look for this final season to be his best.

#6 CJ Compton – OL – Junior – Bethel

At 6-foot-6 and 300-pounds, there is a lot of interest coming Compton’s way. He is a three-year starter at a junior and is looking forward to his best season on record.

#7 Jason Batiste – RB – Junior – Seminole

As a sophomore Batiste rushed for 850 yards and scored eight touchdowns. His totals are almost certain to increase as he is more comfortable with the offense and bigger physically.

FAN’S CHOICE

Based on fan voting in the Shawnee area hub, here are the top players at seven positions.

OFFENSE

Quarterback: Monte Valois – Tecumseh

Monte will be in his second year as the starting quarterback. He is constantly trying to improve himself physically and also by putting in extra time to learn the small details of football

Wide Receiver/Tight End: Jaxon Meyers – Tecumseh

Jaxon will be back at wide receiver this year. He is a hard worker and a great leader.

Running Back: Dylan Graham – Tecumseh

Offensive Lineman: Jay Mitchell – Tecumseh

Standing six foot five inches and weighing in at 310 pounds, Mitchell is a physical force on the offensive line.

DEFENSE

Linebacker: Dylan Graham – Tecumseh

After tallying 76 tackles, three sacks, and an interception, Graham is looking to continue his impact on the field.

Defensive Back: Brynnen Epperley – Tecumseh

A solid player on the defensive side of the ball, Epperley will be a force on the defense.

Defensive Lineman: Tyler Girod – Tecumseh

A tough kid at defensive end, Girod looks to build off of last seasons 57 tackles and six and a half sacks.
