El Reno High School senior Molly Carson is not only passionate about being a cheerleader, she also has a love for FFA. Carson first joined the FFA when she was in middle school like many of her peers.
“I joined FFA as an eighth grader looking for a public speaking outlet and quickly fell in love with the organization and what it stood for,” said Carson. “I have a friend who is one year older than me, Baylee Bowen, who encouraged me to join and held my hand through my first year.”
Carson is currently an officer with the El Reno chapter and she loves being able to meet new people and network within FFA.
“I serve as our chapter president and am a member of the Milk Quality and Products Team, where we were runner up at the state contest this past year,” said Carson. “I love the networking that I am able to do and the connections I make. I have made lifelong friends and job connections over the years.”
Carson also loves to show her animals. Raising them and caring for them is something Carson truly enjoys.
Being a member of the varsity cheer squad is special to her as well.
“I love being able to support my school, my community, and play an active role in different sports,” said Carson. “My teammates are supportive and never give up on me. They pick up my slack when needed and never let me feel alone.”
Carson said her mother has been a big influence in her life.
“My mom has been a major influence in my life for a variety of reasons. She never fails to support me in my crazy ideas, constant involvement, and forever pushes me to be better than I was the day before,” said Carson.
The senior offers this advice to anyone looking to join FFA.“Go headfirst. You will only get in what you put out in this organization and participate in as much and you can. You will find your home with these people if you want to,” said Carson.
