North Rock Creeks’ Chloe Carter- Player Spotlight – Presented By BancFirst

By Chris Cox

When Chloe Carter was younger, she did not think sports were for her.

“I tried every sport known to man and I hated them all,” Carter says. “I told my best friend, who loved volleyball, that I would never pick up a volleyball. But she got me in the gym one day just to try it out. Ever since then, I loved it and have played with her.”

For the North Rock Creek senior, the most enjoyable aspect of volleyball is being a part of a team.

“I find it so encouraging to be a part of team,” she says. “I’ve been blessed that all the teams I’ve been a part of have been super encouraging.”

Chloe also believes that volleyball teaches life lessons as well.

“I can take the lessons I learn in volleyball and take those to my life off the court,” she says. “In volleyball when I make mistakes, I have my team to lift me back up. Like that, I have my family. When I make a mistake, they say ‘Hey, it’s ok. You made a mistake, let’s get it next time.’ I just love how relatable volleyball is to life.”

When things get tough, on and off the court, Carter tries to stay positive. That positivity is something she says comes from her faith.

“The Lord saved me and died on the cross for me,” she says. “There’s just so much to be thankful for because of what He did for me. It’s just super cool to see how the Lord changed my heart to show me that it isn’t all about me. It’s about others and making His name known.”

Outside of volleyball, Chloe helps with her family’s nonprofit Cargo Ranch and leads worship for her youth group on Wednesday nights. She is also the student council senior representative at North Rock Creek, a member of National Honor Society, and runs on the Cougar track team. Following high school, Chloe hopes to attend college and continue to spread the Gospel.
