Coach: Brandon Collins
20-21 Record: 17-7
The Lady Eagles fell just short of a trip to the Class 2A state tournament last season, falling in the Area finals. But head coach Brandon Collins says that the makeup of his team along with experience will make this a great season. “I am very excited about this year’s team,” Collins said. “We are returning a ton of talent and we look forward to building off of last season’s accomplishments.”
Sydney Duncan (6-0, Sr.) averaged almost 17 points last season. She has had a great career so far and this year should add to that resume. She scored double-digits in almost every game last season and also joined the 1,000-point club. Her teammate Avery Haddock (5-6, So.) played some big minutes last year. She has had multiple twenty-point games as a freshman and is expected to continue to have that impact. A new addition to the team is Shelby Sylvester (5-5, Jr.), who transferred in last season. After sitting out last year, she is expected to do great things on the court. She will look to make an immediate impact on both ends of the court. Other Lady Eagles that are expected to have an impact on the season are Amanni Peterson (5-6, Jr.), Shelby Lewis (5-8, Sr.), and Daeli Robertson (5-6, Sr.).
