Coach: Michael Jeffries
20-21 Record: 16-7
With two double-digit scorers returning and some talented underclassmen joining the program, Millwood head coach Michael Jeffries is excited about this season. “We have a mixture of talent with young players, leadership, and experience,” Jeffries says. “Our roster is long and athletic, and we have a great coaching staff to work with our players.” Rickey Hunt (6-0, Jr.) is the Millwood’s top returner after averaging 15.0 points and 6.0 rebounds last season.
“Rickey has been a starter for us since his freshman year,” says Jeffries. “He’s an all-around player on both ends of the floor. He’s resilient, plays hard from start to finish, and is one of our vocal leaders.” Another key player for Millwood is Kobe Law (6-4, Sr.). The power forward averaged 12.0 points and 5.0 rebounds last season. He is a solid player in the post that can also play guard if needed. William Mays (6-0, Jr.) averaged 9.0 points and 4.0 assists last season and will be a team captain this season. “He continues to grow each year,” says Jeffries. “He plays with a chip on his shoulder.” An underclassman Jeffries is excited about is Jaden Nickens (6-4, Fr.). “Jaden already has two Division I offers and will get more. He has the potential to be one of the best players in the state,” says Jeffries.
