HOMETOWN HERO 2022 Nominees – Presented By Raising Canes

Addie Fowler (Norman) – Addie is a perfect person to represent Norman High School. She is a hard worker that is always helping others.

Adrian Wright (Destiny Christian) – Adrian is a great kid that every teacher and student enjoys being around. He does what he is supposed to do and never complains. A good leader in the hallways and on the field.

Amanni Peterson (Oklahoma Christian Academy) – Amanni puts in the time to be the best student-athlete that she can be.

Asia Johnson (Putnam City) – Asia is a leader by example. She works hard and is an extension of the coach on the floor.

Ava Dorris (Bethany) – Ava is always willing to take on any challenge. She is a leader on her sports teams and also throughout the student body. She is a role model for younger student-athletes to look up to.

Billy Gilliland (Luther) – Billy is a leader in the locker room and in the classroom. He is a hard worker that does what it takes to be successful.

Brayden Kirkland (Shawnee)- A really good, hardworking young man. Brayden is always on time or early. Leads the team through his actions and voice. Makes good grades and has a personality that allows him to know almost every human being in Shawnee.

Brigham Evans (Heritage Hall) – Brigham is a great all-around student-athlete. He carries a 4.0 GPA and currently holds an offer from the University of Chicago as well as from many of the Ivy League schools.

Bryson Ford (SW Covenant)- All around great athlete who starts in football, basketball, and baseball. He understands what it means to be a team player and doesn’t seek attention or stats.

Caleb Hulbutta (El Reno) – Caleb is a successful student-athlete at El Reno. While he works hard to be his best on the field, he works equally hard to be the best he can be in the classroom.

Camdyn Frankenberg (Purcell) – Frankenberg is an outstanding athlete on the field and an even better student in the classroom.

Carlos Strong (Millwood) – Carlos is an example of consistent humility, hard work, and dedication to the team’s success. He shows responsibility to not only being a great all-around athlete but a great student, carrying a 3.68 GPA.

Charles Carter (John Marshall) – Charles’ work ethic to top-notch. Whether he is practicing his sports or doing work for a class, he is always giving it his best.

Chelsea Deere (New Lima) – Whether she is on the basketball court or in the classroom, Deere is a great teammate and classmate that works hard to be the best and help those around her be their best.

Clark Free (Oklahoma Christian School) – Clark is a terrific asset for OCS on the field and in the classroom. He will be a two-year starter on the football field, has a 4.0+ GPA, and scored a 35 on the ACT.

Clint Campbell (McLoud) – Clint is an all-around student-athlete that goes out of his way to help others that may need assistance. He carries a 4.0 GPA.

Colby Thompson (Bethel) – Colby is the son of a teacher and an outstanding young man. He works hard at whatever tasks are put in front of him and he knows how to succeed.

Colin Fisher (Noble) – Fisher plays multiple sports for Noble High School and works hard to be his best. He is a great all-around kid.

DeAngelo Johnson (Douglass) – DeAngelo is Mr. Douglass High School. DeAngelo is on the football team, wrestling team, and track and field team. He maintains a 3.8 GPA and is always ready to help Douglass High School any way that he can.

Diego Otero (Putnam City North) – Diego is a leader in every sense of the word. He knows how to push his teammates to be better in a good healthy way. The boys look up to and respect him through and through. He is one of the bedrocks of his team.

Dustin Ginn (Bowlegs) – Dustin is born and raised in Bowlegs. He has been a part of the Bowlegs community and school his entire life. Dustin has also made a name for himself on the football field. He is the perfect person to represent Bowlegs.

Elijah James (Putnam City West) – Elijah is a great kid and an outstanding student. He carries a 3.8 GPA has a great work ethic quiet kid but when he speaks the team listens.

Ella Watkins (Piedmont) – Ella has an outstanding work ethic and is a leader among her peers.

Hannah Cage (Mount St. Mary)- Hannah is a great person that is always going out of her way to help others. She works hard at whatever she is doing.

Jaceylynn Dickson (NW Classen) – Works hard on the basketball court but does not have to be the star. The same goes for when she is not playing sports, she works hard in the classroom and is a great classmate.

Jaedon Foreman (Del City) – On the field or in the classroom, Foreman works hard to be the best that he can be.

Jake Tadlock (Norman North) – Jake is a great student in the classroom, a multi-year starter, and a leader on the football team. He does all the little things right, every single day.

Jayden Haney (North Rock Creek) – Jayden is a selfless player that works hard but does not seek attention.

Jazmin Rubio (Southeast)- Jazmin works hard, is consistent, and does all the little things a coach asks when needed.

Joe Mathews (Guthrie) – Joe is a great kid that is all about making Guthrie the best. As an athlete, he competes hard and gives it his best, while in the classroom, he works to be the best he can.

Julius Pruitt (Choctaw) – Julius is a super high character young man that always gives his best effort and is a locker room favorite. He is always positive and always encouraging. He makes everyone around him better. His effort or commitment is never questioned and you could not ask for a better representation of Choctaw High School.

Kate Fletcher (Bishop McGuinness) – Kate is a hardworking student-athlete that goes out of her way to help a teammate or a classmate in need.

Kaylee Davis (Carl Albert) – She is a solid softball player on the field and a great student in the classroom.

Kennedy Fridia (Southmoore) – Kennedy is an extremely hard worker and a terrific student in the classroom. She always gives it one hundred percent.

Kobe Scott (Washington) – A well-rounded student-athlete that works hard both on and off the field.

Kris Boynton (Coyle) – Kris is a multisport athlete for the Bluejackets. Whether on the field or court, in the classroom, or in the community, Boynton is always a top-notch person and representative of CPS.

Kye Davis (Christian Heritage) – An excellent underclassman, who is not only talented on the field but off. He currently is starring in the school play and is involved in several clubs. He is the all-around person of CHA.

Kyler Scoville (Casady) – Carrying a 3.8 GPA, Scoville is a leader among his peers and is an outstanding student-athlete.

Lang Muang (Mustang) – Lang is an outstanding athlete that has put in a lot of work. A great representative for the school throughout the community.

Leslie Barber (Lexington) – She works hard on the basketball court to be a great teammate and competitor, she also works hard in the classroom.

Maddux Clifford (Little Axe) – Maddux is an outstanding young man. He is a member of the National Honor Society and is a solid student in the classroom. He helps out with little league football programs where his younger brother played and helps paint the game field for Friday nights.

Maggie Rasmussen (Edmond Santa Fe) – Maggie is a senior this year, she goes above and beyond to do her best, and she is a hard worker on the court and in the classroom. She is the best teammate to the girls on her team and their biggest cheerleader.

Makayla Jackson (Westmoore) – Jackson is always ready to help out anyone that needs it. She is a great all-around person.

Makenzie Kinnard (Community Christian) – Makenzie is the epitome of an unselfish person. Whether she is playing sports or in the classroom, she is always willing to help out anyone that needs it.

Mindy Wildcat (Mindy Wildcat) – Whether at school or in the community, Mindy is always ready to give back.

Monte Valois (Tecumseh) – Monte is a hard worker and does not know how to give up.

Morgan Whitaker (Bridge Creek) – Morgan is a junior. She shows up every day to every single practice. She does all the workouts and always puts in a little extra. You will never see her not giving 100% effort.

Myracle Washington (Midwest City) – Washington excels in the classroom and is always willing to help out anyone who is in need.

Paola Correa (Western Heights) – Paola loves to play sports but also seeks out to help out others whenever possible.

Parker Means (Yukon) – A great example of the Yukon Miller spirit. Loves the school and is always there to support teammates and classmates.

Payton Thomas (Moore) – Payton Thomas has a heart of gold. He is always willing to lend a hand and help a stranger. He leads his team with pride and has a great work ethic.

Quentin Schane (Newcastle) – He is a relentless worker and is also a tremendous wrestler. He is a reflection of the Newcastle spirit.

Storie Driver (Tuttle) – Driver is one of those people that does what she can but does not seek out the recognition that she deserves.

Tymier Adkins (Crooked Oak) – Tymier is a Junior who averaged 30.1 PPG and 33.2 through playoffs in basketball. He holds a 3.82 GPA and is currently taking college classes. He is a great young man in more than just the game of basketball.

Wheeler Williams (Harrah) – Wheeler is a terrific kid that not only works hard but is also ready to help anyone whenever she can.

Will Morris (Edmond Memorial) – Will exemplifies the meaning of student-athlete. He is an AP student, who recently scored a 31 on the ACT. He is always striving to be the best person he can be.

Wood Ingram (Edmond North) – Wood carries a 3.7 GPA and is a student council officer. He is always one that can be counted on when help is needed.
