Head coach – Mike Dunn
2021: 10-3
Carl Albert made an impressive run to last year’s semifinal game in the Class 5A playoffs with an extremely young team. The Titans look to build off of last year’s season with the experience gained in 2021. The Titans base out of 11 personnel, with the ability to flex the tight end or halfback and get into 10/20 personnel. “I would say we’re a multiple spread offense,” Dunn said. “We’ve got a pound the rock mentality on offense. We want to run the pall to open up the pass. We’ve traditionally had really good backs at Carl Albert, so we like to keep the ball in our best guy’s hands. We want to be efficient in the pass game and aim for a 70 percent completion rating. We’ll use speed in other areas to open up the field.” Quarterback Reed DeQuasie (6-2, 198, Sr.) threw for 2,007 yards, 18 touchdowns, and ran for 639 and five touchdowns. He is one of the top returning quarterbacks in 5A and primed for another big season this year. DeQuasie also stars on the basketball team and qualified for state in track. He’s one of the best overall athletes in Oklahoma and will play defense as well, appearing at safety. Caleb Cornell (6-5, 225, Sr.) is a tight end with great upside on both sides of the ball. Last season he had 23 catches for 500 yards and seven touchdowns. Halfback Xavier Robinson (6-2, 222, Jr.) had 704 rushing yards, 12 touchdowns, 110 receiving yards and a score. Trey Washington (6-4, 207, So.) is one of the top sophomore athletes in the state. He started every game as a freshman and was the team’s second leading receiver with over 500 yards and six touchdowns. He’s a big outside receiver with natural pass catching ability and handles punting duties with a 40-yard average. Easton Collier (6-0, 223, Jr.) is a menace on the offensive front and had 26 pancake blocks in 2021.
