Moore Volleyball Preview – Presented by Community Builders

Poised for a great year:

Under the leadership of head coach Rachael Travis, the Lady Lions are building momentum coming off what was a great 2021 campaign. Coach Travis said the best is yet to come.

“We are coming off of the best season in program history, and this year we are looking to top that. We have a strong senior class leading a young and upcoming program. This season will be big for Moore volleyball as we look for our first ever state tournament berth,” said coach Travis.

The team is centered around four-year starter Sara Freeman. Freeman was named captain her junior year and was program MVP her sophomore and junior seasons.

“Sara is a first team All-Conference player, and it shows. She competes at a high level, and always drives to become better. She is a natural leader with a passion for the game that you can see as soon as Sara steps on the court. Sara will be attending Oklahoma Christian University in 2023 to continue her athletic and academic careers,” said coach Travis.

Freeman isn’t the only standout. Addison Worley made a big splash last season and has continued to show she belongs in the conversation as one of the top talents in the state.

“Addie is hands down a standout player. She was named Conference Newcomer of the Year as a freshman because of the big play she has. Addie is extremely athletic with a lot of power behind her. She can run down any ball or score a big point at will. She will be a player any team fears this year,” said coach Travis.

Jocelyn Thomas (MB, So.) is showing she belongs at the varsity level while Emma Miller (DS, Sr.) continues to work hard and improve her game as a defensive specialist. Other players to watch this season include Artina Williams (MB, Jr.), Camryn Childers (OH, RS, Jr.), Kayleann Pope (S, OPP, Sr.), Kim Phelps (RS, Sr.), Lauryn Weber (DS, So.), and Maddie Spears (L, Sr.).
