BRAD BELLER
14-1
OFFENSE
Following a state runner-up finish last season, Washington head coach Brad Beller knows returning to the title game could be tough. The Warriors lost a great senior class but, Beller says they are returning a large nucleus of starters and key reserves from last years squad. On offense, the Warriors return eight starters, including their quarterback Major Cantrell (5-10, 178, Jr.). Cantrell ran the spread option attack very well last season throwing for roughly 2,500 yards and 33 touchdowns. Joining Cantrell in the backfield is VYPE Top 100 athlete Cole Scott (5-10, 180, Sr.). The running back tallied 1,900 yards and 31 touchdowns as a junior. Beller says Scott is the heart of the team and is always challenging himself to get better. Wide receiver Cage Morris (6-3, 177, Jr.) is back after recording 534 receiving yards as a sophomore. Up front, Washington returns three offensive linemen. Wyatt Mcauley (5-10, 228, Sr.) started all 15 games last season and Caleb Bruce (5-11, 250, Sr.) and Tanner Winlock (6-0, 257, Jr.) have both started since their freshmen years and bring a wealth of experience.
DEFENSE
Defensively, the Warriors return seven starters. They will use a 4-3 as a base but will show different fronts to disguise their defense. Hayden Milner (6-5, 224, Sr.) returns for his senior season after registering 12 sacks last season. He has been a mainstay along the Washington D-Line for several season and will look to close out his high school career with another big year. Jaxon Hendrix (6-0, 170, Sr.) is back at safety after starting every game there last year. Hendrix can play multiple positions and Beller says Hendrix is a great team leader. Ben Vaughn (5-10, 145, Jr.) is a small outside linebacker but was incredibly productive last season with 76 tackles and four sacks. An underclassman Beller thinks could have a breakout year is Nate Roberts (6-4, 210, So.). Roberts will lineup at tight end and defensive and should be productive on both sides of the ball. Jeff Kulbeth, Queston Autry, and Shane Labeth will be Beller’s assistants this season.
