Southmoore High School junior Zeph Davison is a varsity football player for the Sabercats and the “talk of the tailgate” this season.
Davison is known for being a versatile player on the field with the skill set to play multiple positions. In fact, one of his favorite memories came when his number was called at three different positions in one game.
“My favorite moment of a game of all time is probably when I had three touchdowns at three different positions; wide receiver, running back, and special teams, but in high school just being able to compete against top tier players and players with offers is what I love most,” said Davison. “Friday nights are so special for me because I have dreams of playing on Saturdays and Sundays and playing on Friday night is a step closer to my goal.”
Davison said he loves the environment that surrounds the game and he loves being on the field with his teammates.
“I love how we still compete and we’re still close in our ups and downs and how we are so quick to fight for each other,” Davison said. “The environment of the game the competitiveness and the tension and how both teams have something to prove is what I love and what I will miss most.”
The junior said Southmoore High School is a great place to be a student-athlete because they put an emphasis on academics and their teams are always competitive. Davison said he plans to earn a business degree in college while playing football.
