Players to Watch
Nitalia Briganti – Lexington
Nitalia’s ability to improve as an athlete has increased over the last three years. She is an amazing cheerleader. Her tumbling, jumping, and stunting ability is outstanding. She is a natural-born leader and helps the other girls when they need assistance.
Kynzlee Birchett – Moore
Kynzlee is well rounded in the main aspects of cheerleading including jumps, tumbling, and stunting.
Kathleen Shafer – Norman
Kathleen is a senior and she is not only an extremely talented athlete but also an outstanding leader for the team. She will take on any role she is given and is always willing to try something new. She is always there and never complains and she pushes herself and her teammates to be their best.
Avery Wren – Purcell
Avery Wren is a seniors who excels in every area of cheer. She is an incredible cheerleader who is a main base, tumbler, amazing at jumps and goes above and beyond for her team every single day. Wren is an amazing example of a team leader and captain.
Rielyn Scheffe – Washington
Rielyn is a sophomore and an all-around athlete who truly excels at cross country, cheer, basketball, and track. With all her activities and training she is committed to, she is a master of scheduling her time. She is an athlete who loves to put in the work, no matter what the conditions are. Most of all, she is completely humble about her abilities and is always ready to step up to do anything that is asked of her.
Underclassmen to Watch
Ava Burgess – Lexington
Burgess is an outstanding cheerleader who has great school spirit. She always gives it her all.
Channing French – Norman
On the sidelines or in practice, Channing is a solid teammate and cheerleader.
Love Leigh Guthmueller – Purcell
She is an great person to be around and loves to cheer on the Dragons.
Kynsli Hyde – Washington
Kynsli works hard and does whatever it takes to be the best cheerleader she can be.
Unsung Heroes
Gracie Bradsher – Lexington
Gracie has a great attitude and is a great representation of Lexington schools.
Rylee Zais – Moore
Zais is an outstanding all around person and member of the cheer team.
Addy Pepperman – Norman
Whether it is practicing cheers, learning new routines, or something else, Addy is always ready to do whatever it takes to be her best.
Parker Goldston – Purcell
Parker always has a smile and is ready to help her teammates.
Kelby Hodges – Washington
Hodges is a terrific kid that works hard and it shows.
CROSS COUNTRY PLAYERS TO WATCH
BOYS
Michael Parker -Norman
Michael has worked incredibly hard this summer and has put in the miles he needed to have a big senior year.
Jack Lindley – Norman North
He was the team’s top finisher last year at state. Look for big things from him this season.
Josh Hamilton – Purcell
He has been injured but has been a great team leader and as soon as he is ready to run again will immediately make an impact on the varsity squad again.
Josh Rammage – Southmoore
Rammage is a returning state qualifier and is expected to have a solid season.
Elijah White – Westmoore
Elijah has been a strong runner for Westmoore since his freshmen year. He was part of the team that placed second overall at the state meet in 2019. He is not just strong athlete but also a great leader for the team.
GIRLS
Payton Fox – Norman
She has worked incredibly hard this summer and she is starting to be more
comfortable being in the role as one of our leaders on the team.
Kinley Kite- Norman North
Kite is a great kid that has put in a lot of work and has the potential to be a top runner in the state this season.
Eva Tice – Westmoore
Eva is a junior this year. She has shown true strength since her freshman year. She
qualified for the 6A State cross country meet her freshmen and sophomore year.
UNDERCLASSMEN TO WATCH
BOYS
Kohtaka Orikasa – Norman
Kohtaka is mature beyond his years and is a dedicated runner. He always gives his all when he steps out on the course.
James Estes and Cameron Jansing – Norman North
They had a fantastic middle school career and have been working really hard this summer to stay with the top runners on the team.
Erick Suarez – Purcell
Erick began his running career last year as a freshman. He worked hard and improved during track barely missing out on being an additional qualifier for state last year.
Jackson Elliot – Southmoore
Elliot is competitive, has a great drive, outstanding character, and was a state
qualifier for track. Look for big things from him this season.
Isaac Chavez – Westmoore
Isaac has grown to love the sport of cross country. He has a great spirit and should have a solid season.
GIRLS
Gabby Beck – Norman
Gabby has been in the program since sixth grade, and she continues to improve.
Her coaches are expecting big things from her.
Halley Jewell – Norman North
Incredibly talented and with hard work could be an all stater this season.
UNSUNG HEROES
BOYS
Dane Adams – Norman
Dane brings a level of energy that is welcome and much needed on a cross country team. His enthusiasm is contagious and he has grown a lot over the last few years.
Kaleb Favaloro and David Evenson – Norman North
They are the team captains and have done a great job at uniting this team and
instilling the team goal of qualifying for state as a team.
Zach Idlett – Purcell
He has been dedicated to every aspect of the program. He was voted as team captain which shows the love the rest of the team has for him.
Andy Mesta – Southmoore
An outstanding kid on and off the course, Andy works hard and is an important part of the team.
Brady Marlar – Westmoore
Marlar is one of the team captains this season. He has been organizing practices to
meet up with his teammates all summer. He’s a leader with very little words but leads by example.
GIRLS
Kimberly Olivares – Norman
As a sophomore Olivares leads by example. She makes a concentrated effort to get to know each girl on the team.
Devin Jansing – Norman North
Jansing has been injured but has been a great team leader and as soon as she is ready to run again will immediately make an impact on the varsity squad again.
Harley Woody – Westmoore
Harley is one of the team captains this year. She is always the first to step up
when needed and the coaches appreciate her leadership more than ever.
