Noble’s Cheer Team

The cheer team is an important part of any athletic program. They rally the fans
to support the teams on the field or court and they also help spread the school
spirit around the community. And when they are not cheer on their school’s teams, they are working hard and perfecting their routines for their own competitions. Paula Miller is in her third season at the helm of the Noble High School cheer team and she says that though her team is new to the cheer competition scene, they have made great strides.
“Last year was our first to compete in the OSSAA Game Day competition,” she said.
“We made it to state, which was really great. It was so exciting for our program and we were super proud. We are really excited about this season. We have high hopes for competitions as well as sideline cheer.”
Senior captain Payton DeBusk is proud to be a member of the Noble cheer squad and says she is looking forward to her final year.

“What I enjoy most about cheering for my school is the Friday night lights,” she stated. “Cheering with those I have cheered with for years as well as for so many of my friends on the field and also having the community in the stands, there truly is no feeling like it and I will miss it after this year.”

Coach Miller knows the importance of her team having great team chemistry and
they do activities together to help solidify that bond.

“Last year, we took multiple trips to Tulsa for basketball,” she said. “We also
traveled to Woodward for Game Day Regionals. We got to bond as a team and had a blast doing it.”
Abby Maguire, who is also a senior captain, enjoys the group that she gets to cheer alongside at games and competitions and how much they each love their school.

“What I enjoy the most about my team is how much team spirit we have,” she said.
“I love how excited we all get for games. We give it our all and have fun while doing it. I couldn’t ask for a better team.
