Coach: Brent Hodges

2021-22 Record: 16-9

Eighth year head coach of the Moore Lady Lions Brent Hodges is ready to get the season underway with the core of his team returning this winter. Last season Moore made it to the area tournament and beat three teams that ended up playing in the state tournament. This year Hodges and his Lady Lions are hoping to take the next step forward and make their own appearance in the state tournament and believe that they have the talent to do so. “We return 72% of our scoring and 66% of our rebounding,” Hodges said. “We have some additions and young sophomores that will make an impact this season.”

Madeline Bills (5-9, Sr.) and Albony Bryles (5-5, Sr.) are a veteran backcourt duo that will be controlling things on the offensive end. Bills averaged 12.2 points and Bryles averaged 11.2 points a year ago and both have been receiving interest from Division II programs to play at the next level. Taryn Cottrel (6-0, Jr.) is a newcomer from Noble and is expected to make an immediate impact. She brings great size at forward and averaged 11.1 points at her previous school. She will fit in nicely with the current mix of players at Moore. Shelby Sylvester (5-5, Sr.) is another newcomer who played last year at Oklahoma Christian Academy where she averaged 8.2 points. Sylvester is a solid guard that can make an impact on both ends of the floor and allows versatility in lineups and rotations.

Teirra Perry (5-5, Jr.) was not eligible to play last season because of OSSAA transfer eligibility and coaches are excited to see her get on the floor and make an impact. Libby Jaques (6-0, So.) impressed as a freshman and averaged nearly 10 rebounds a game a year ago. Coaches expect her to take another leap forward and continue to improve on the hardwood. Jaques is a star on the softball diamond and is being recruited by major Division I programs in softball and brings the same competitive edge to the basketball court.

Also look for Ally McDougal (5-9, Sr.),  Nivy Chibbity (5-7, Sr.), and Zaraiya Sims (6-1, So.) to play significant roles this year and compete every night.
