Piedmont High School senior Gracie Yager can be considered a cheerleading veteran. She cheers for Piedmont High School’s football team, girls’ basketball team, and boys’ basketball team, as well as for wrestling. Gracie started cheering at the young age of six years old.
When asked what her favorite aspect of cheerleading is, Gracie said, “My favorite part of cheering is getting to support my school and get to be on the sidelines with my friends doing what I love. My favorite sport to cheer for is football. I also love getting to perform in front of a big crowd.”
Gracie looks towards her parents as the individuals that have influenced her most in life. “My parents have been my biggest influence and they have taught me how to be a good person, to always stay true to who I am, and to do what makes me happy. Without question, they are my biggest supporters, and I wouldn’t be where I am today without them.”
In terms of academics, while a senior at Piedmont High School, when asked what her favorite subject is, Gracie stated, “My favorite subject that I am in at my high school is Leadership. Through this class, I have learned how to be a better person, and to bring my peers together to have a wonderful high school experience.”
Outside of school and Cheerleading, Gracie continues to stay busy. She stated, “In my free time I like to hang out with my friends, go shopping, and explore new things. I am an adventurous person and love to travel.”
After graduating from Piedmont High School in spring, she plans on pursuing higher education. Gracie stated, “I plan to attend the University of Oklahoma where I will study business and real estate.”
With her commitment to cheerleading and academics, Gracie will undoubtedly become successful at The University of Oklahoma.
