Q&A with Luther’s Colin Allen – Presented By Banc First

VYPE: What has been your favorite memory of playing?

Colin: District playoffs my freshman year. We played a tough doubleheader and I caught both games. We won our district for the first time in ten years.

VYPE: When and how did you first get into playing baseball?

Colin: It all started at Edmond All Sports when I was five years old. I have played ever since.

VYPE: What has baseball taught you that you use in your daily life?

Colin: It’s taught me how important teamwork is.

VYPE: Why are you passionate about your sport?

Colin: I developed a love for baseball when I started catching at eight years old. There is something about being behind home plate.

VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?

Colin: Braden Browning. He played a big leadership role in my high school career.

VYPE: Which professional athlete do you look up to and why?

Colin: Yadier Molina, because he was the best catcher in the game throughout my childhood. Some of my favorite memories are watching him play in St. Louis.

VYPE: What is your all-time favorite meal?

Colin: My dad’s chicken tortilla soup.

VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade and why?

Colin: Mrs. Wilson was my third-grade teacher. She is my favorite because she was patient with me. I wasn’t always the easiest student. Thank you, Mrs. Wilson.

VYPE: Here is your chance to give a shoutout or say thank you to anyone you wish.

Colin: Coach Browning, thank you for taking a chance on me when I was a freshman. You never gave up and continue to invest in me. Thank you.
