DEER CREEK ANTLERS
Coach: WADE STANDLEY
10-2
OFFENSE
The Antlers bring back a good mix of returners, including eight players with starting experience from its 10-win campaign in 2022. VYPE Top 100 finalist Grady Adamson (6-2, 195, Jr.) had a big sophomore year tossing 33 touchdowns on over 2,800 yards while converting over 66 percent of his passes to go with 6 rushing touchdowns. The pro-style passer has received offers from Pitt, Tulsa and North Texas this summer and will look to a pair of experienced receivers in Mason Smith (6-3, 195, Jr.) and Colton Neal (5-9, 170, Sr.) this year. Smith caught 54 passes for 744 yards and 9 touchdowns last year; Neal had 25 catches for 426 yards and three touchdowns. Mason Miller (6-1, 220, Sr.) is the team’s veteran in the running backs room after he reached the end zone 10 times last fall on 107 touches and 652 yards. Toran Smith (6-3, 255, Sr.), whose recruiting has picked up this offseason with offers from Navy, East Central, Pitt State and Central Oklahoma, is head coach Wade Standley’s best returning offensive lineman.
DEFENSE
With three returning starters, Deer Creek’s defensive core has room to develop incoming talent this year, but Kevin Shenje (5-10, 205, Sr.), Eli Donohue (6-1, 205, Sr.) and Brady Brewer (5-10, 190, Jr.) will provide experience and a steady example to their teammates. Shenje, who notched 65 tackles, 13 tackles for loss and 11 sacks, has been described by the Deer Creek staff as a “beast” at defensive end. Donahue, also a defensive end, was good for 36 tackles, including nine for losses, and six sacks last year. And Brewer, who captured 23 tackles, eight tackles for loss and a pair of sacks last year, is the team’s tenured linebacker as he eyes a promising second half to his high school career.
