Norman North softball coach Trey Palacol has nominated Kaitlyn Webb for our Character Counts honor.
Saying “Kaitlyn has been a performance leader ever since she stepped on campus. She is not real vocal but leads by her actions. Just in 3 years she has produce big time numbers offensively, but in just the playoffs which I believe matter the most her stat lines read 23-36 .638-avg 8-1b 9-2b 1-3b 5-HR 21-RBI.
he has become one of our program leaders and backbones.”
This season, Webb strives “to become a better leader on and off the field. I want the underclassman to know that they can count on me on the field, in the classroom, and outside of school.”
Throughout her impressive career Webb has one moment that has stuck out to her above all others. Sharing “my favorite athletic memory was playing in the championship game in Colorado. We were down by 10 and came back to win it in ITB. I got to help my team with a solo homerun followed by a grand slam. After that, the team was fired up and we knew we were going to leave with the W.”
Outside of athletics Webb is “ involved with FCA. I love getting to connect with people who share the same interests as me, as well as learning how Christ impacts other peoples lives. I am also in the National honors society.”
Of course, community is also important to Webb as she told VYPE “I volunteer at the Oklahoma Food Bank throughout the year because knowing that I am helping impact someone else’s life makes me happy.”
