Two years ago, the Timberwolves made a deep run into the state tournament before missing out on the big dance in 2023. “Coming off a season where we started slow and finished winning nine of our last 12 games,” head coach Kellen McCoy said. “We look to build as we are a team that has some guys looking to prove themselves and make a name for the T-Wolves this season. We expect to be tough, physical and really make it tough to score on us in the half court.” Noah Jones (6-2, Sr.) returns for a promising senior campaign. The guard had an above-the-rim junior season. “Noah Jones is a senior point guard that has a great handle and really tough to stay in front of,” McCoy said, “finishes well at the rim and has great vision. Also a really good defender and shot-blocker.” Hezekiah Green (6-3, Jr.) caught eyes of local scouts during the offseason with his bounce and playmaking. Like Jones, Green is gunning to improve his recruiting outlook this year under McCoy, who has helped several Timberwolves get to signing day in his six years at North. “Hez has had a great fall, is an explosive scorer from all three levels,” McCoy said.

“Really shoots it well from 3 and attacks the paint. Owen Eshelman (6-2, Jr.) “is playing quarterback right now and having a great season,” McCoy said, but is expected to provide his services to the Timberwolves at the conclusion of Norman North’s football season. Eshelman, whose Twitter profile pic is a Swiss Army Knife, does a little bit of everything for the T-Wolves on the floor, providing athleticism, size, strength and playmaking at guard. Norman North opens at Deer Creek on Nov. 28. It hosts the Joe Lawson Memorial Invitational on Dec. 7-9.
