North Rock Creek Cheer Spotlight Presented by The Clinic Pharmacy

There are many things that cheer teams do to help show support for their school and help spread the school spirit. Along with being on the sidelines at sporting events and leading pep rallies, they also work on their routines for their own competitions.

Brook Bright is in her first year leading the North Rock Creek Cougars cheer program. She says that she inherited a group that is not afraid to put in the time and effort to be their best at all that they do. She says that they have an impact on more than just the school, they also impact the community as well.

“We have a great squad,” she said. “I think our biggest strengths are our work ethic and being spirit leaders at North Rock Creek and also in our community.”

Bright says that the team has seen their hard work pay off at the competitions they attend.

“Last year the squad was named Academic State Champs,” she said. “They advanced to state for Game Day Competitions. They were also recognized at National Cheerleaders Association camp for multiple awards and Kinsey Branch made the All-American squad.”

While they know how to put in the time and hard work as a group, coach Bright also says that her squad knows how to have fun and create great memories together.

“Our squad loves pool parties and camps,” she said. “We also really enjoy the Cougar Youth Association camps that we lead. Being involved with the younger students at North Rock Creek brings out the best in our leaders. We are looking forward to our Pink Out Performance camp in October with the North Rock Creek Pom team. Our team is very excited for this.”
