Carl Albert athlete Steven Anderson recently spoke to VYPE.
VYPE: What are your personal goals for the year?
My personal goals is to have a stock rising season and to get offers and also lead my team to state championship.
VYPE: What is your favorite athletic memory?
My favorite athletic memory would have to be when i had 27 points against Edmond Santa Fe and later on lead my team to a championship.
VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?
The teammate that left the biggest impression on would have to be Quincy Hopkins. He’s a great player overall and he can be tough on you but that also taught me that is not the way they say it but what they are actually saying and that has helps me on and off the court a lot this season.
VYPE: What is your favorite part of being on this team?
My favorite part about being on the team is the connection i have build with my coaches and teammates.
VYPE: Do you participate in any community service projects?
No, I don’t participate in any community services but I plan on starting very soon because thats something that I feel like everyone should put some effort in.
VYPE: What Clubs or Campus groups are you involved with and why?
No, I’m not involved in any clubs or campus groups this year but along with community service projects I plan on getting into that.
VYPE: What has your sport taught you that you use in your daily life?
Responsibility most definitely. Responsibility has taught me a lot through the game a basketball. when on the court you always are responsible for something whether your on and off the ball. defense as well you are always supposed to be somewhere on the court and your responsible for being there when you need too!
VYPE: What is the best advice that anyone has given you?
Have a subconscious mind through the whole game, but use it to a certain extent. when i’m in the game i work on having a subconscious mind because having a conscious mind will make you end up overthinking and keep stuff in your head that happened 2 or 3 possessions ago and that’ll effect you.
VYPE: Who inspires you and why?
My mom and dad, they inspire me the most! the help me through my everyday struggles and guide me to where i need to be to get successful! my dad used to hoop in high school and he was a really good player so i wanna follow in his tracks.
