Norman’s Dax Noles – Athlete spotlight – Presented by Norman Hyundai

Dax Noles has a love for two sports. Playing football and baseball at Norman High School has taught him lessons to prepare for life after high school. Learning to battle through adversity and to always do everything the best you can are the two main takeaways Dax learned playing sports.

Now a senior, Dax has played football and baseball most of his life. “I was born into a football family, so it just makes sense. I never lost the love of baseball, so I still play to this day,” he says.

Dax’s favorite part of being on a team are the friendships built with teammates. “It is such a blessing, especially with both of my Norman High teams. I love the game and enjoy being able to play something I love with my best friends.

“I’ve had a lot of amazing teammates in my four years of playing sports but I gotta go with my senior squad this year. Luis Flores, Jaden Cooper, Deontrea Cooper, Savion Owen’s, Kurt Carter, CJ Moore, and Devin Alexander. They have made this year really enjoyable and fun, but they also push me to be the best athlete and person I can be,” says Dax.

The person Dax most admires is coach Kitchell. “He has been such a great mentor in my life. I wouldn’t be where I am today without him,” he says. Dax also looks up to NFL player Tim Tebow. “He plays the game really aggressive but also knows what’s most important in life.”

Family is important in Dax’s life. “My dad inspires me because he has been in the same situations I’ve been in and gives such amazing advice and is one of the best role models. He does everything his best and gives all the glory to God. He is exactly how every man wants to be,” Dax said.

Some of his best memories were made this year. Winning their first playoff game in 12-years was a huge accomplishment he is proud to have been a part of. Dax enjoys being a student athlete representing his school with his best friends. “It doesn’t get more enjoyable than that,” he says.

“I just want to thank all my family and friends for everything they have done to push me to where I’m at today. I also want to give all glory to God. None of my success could have happened without him,” said Dax.

In addition to sports, Dax is a leader at NHS in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
