SNU Leadership
Ryan Wagner
Current Putnam City North High School Athletic Director and former Southern Nazarene University student Ryan Wagner has spent the last five years serving the Putnam City school district.
Making the decision to attend SNU for the Master of Arts in Educational Leadership (MAEL) was an easy one for Wagner. The degree will not only help Wagner become a more well-rounded administrator, but it will also serve to push his career forward giving Wagner the tools he needs to be successful for the district and the students.
“I am already an administrator, but all the information of the details of how you run a school has really helped me understand the big picture,” said Wagner.
For Wagner, there were several things about the program with SNU that he enjoyed. From the instructors to the curriculum, Wagner said the MAEL program was exactly what he expected.
“I love the community at SNU and what they believe and stand for it is aligned with my beliefs. What I loved about the program was the curriculum and professors,” said Wagner. “I enjoyed how helpful they instructors and SNU community are to everyone.”
With many of his peers furthering their education, Wagner said he recommends SNU for anyone who wishes to further their career and be the best possible version of themselves for their school and students.
“I always tell my colleagues that SNU is the perfect school and master’s program if you are thinking of pursuing a master’s in education,” said Wagner.
Serving as Athletic Director has its challenges, but for Wagner, loving the work and seeing his student-athletes succeed makes all the hard work worth it. His schedule is typically full of games most nights of the week; however, he does stay on top of happenings around the SNU campus.
