Moore High School

A two-sport student-athlete at Moore High School, Jaely Bell is a volleyball player and golfer for the Lady Sabercats.

The freshman started playing golf at a young age but started competing in golf when she was in middle school.

“I played junior golf off and on when I was younger, and I’ve played school golf since seventh grade,” said Bell.

Becoming a member of the varsity team and having the opportunity to represent Southmoore on the course is a special moment for Bell and her teammates are a big reason she is having fun doing it.

“I love how my teammates are so encouraging and fun to be around. I love being a student athlete because I’ve made so many new friends and it’s pretty easy to balance homework with school sports,” said Bell.

Bell said the team is coming together nicely and she feels there is enough talent for the team to be successful.

“The team is looking pretty good this season. There’s a lot of talent, we just need to keep practicing a little more. I’ve been working to improve my short game. My chipping and putting is getting a lot better the more I practice it,” said Bell.

In the classroom, Bell is a math fan and is focused on making good grades.

“My favorite subject is math and Mrs. Lohn is probably my favorite teacher. She teaches math so well, but I also like Mrs. Harkey because she’s super chill and she always tries to make class fun,” said Bell.

The freshman said she would like to attend college after high school and possibly play volleyball. When she has some free time, Bell said she enjoys spending it with her mother.
