I see you people pleaser.

The inner monologue of ‘let’s make it through the day’ has become not just a daily saying, but something you feel down to your very core. It’s taken years of repeating your mantra of ‘I’m fine, everything’s okay’ to start believing it. Slowly, as time has gone on, the realization has come that you are. So. Not. Okay. Despite your best efforts to numb all the feelings you realize:

  • How overwhelmed you are with even regular tasks

  • How you can’t seem to focus and it’s a constant struggle

Calling your mom and venting about your miserable day hasn’t helped, and you realize as you hang up the phone that she spent more time talking about her issues than being present for you.  It seems as though the patterns that started in childhood are continuing to play out in your adult life. As you lie in bed you think, ‘Will anyone ever be there for me? Will I ever tell someone (even my own mother) what I need?’ When the pain becomes too much you say ‘I’ll just stay busy,’ but the truth is, you’re overthinking this. Big Time.

My approach is relational, and encourages you to allow someone to be fully present for you while also giving you strategies that teach you how to be more compassionate and tender with yourself.
