Bridge Creek Bobcats Boys Basketball Preview – Presented by First National Bank & Trust Co.

Coach: Kevin Korstjens
21-22 Record: 9-14

Coach Kevin Korstjens is entering his fourth season at the helm of the Bobcats basketball program. Coming into the season the Bobcats are excited for the season and ready to see what they can accomplish. “We return a lot of experience. We lost seven games last year by four points or less. We expect to get over that hill this year and raise our level of play,” said coach Korstjens.

Jacob Ojeda (5-11, Jr.) returns at guard where his ability to score makes him a threat for a big game every night. Ojeda has worked on his game to become a more complete player. “Jac plays with a great passion and love for the game that is contagious,” said coach Korstjens. Phil Gingerich (5-9, Sr.) is a consistent player who works hard in the gym and comes to play every contest. Bryce Benson (6-2, Jr.) is a combo player who can step out at guard or play in the post at forward. Brock Merchant (5-11, Sr.) will see time at guard with Walker Hill (6-2, Jr.) playing that hybrid role like Benson.

Another player to watch is Dax Glenn. Glenn is a gym rat who continues to make big gains in his game and coach Korstjens said Glenn will be a force this season. The Bobcats will see plenty of competition in three tournaments this season at Wynnewood, Noble and Checotah. The season tips off with a road trip to Lindsay High School.
