LEE BLANKENSHIP
7-5
OFFENSE
After a trip to the state semifinals in Oklahoma’s largest classification, the Broncos and head coach Lee Blankenship are looking forward to another shot at making history. With several starters back on both sides of the ball, Blankenship feels his team is poised for something special. “We have had an exceptional offseason. Our strength program is elevating our program and I am excited to see the fruits of that this season,” said coach Blankenship. Jacobe Johnson (6-3, 200, Sr.) is the type of playmaker every coach wants to have on their team. Johnson will force teams to pay close attention to him on every down. Keegan Bass (5-10, 175, Sr.) joins Johnson at receiver giving the team two DI guys in the passing game. Tristen Russell (5-10, 185, Sr.) will quarterback Mustang and look for those two weapons in the passing game. Jayhan Bedford (5-9, 175, Sr.) starts at running back giving the Broncos a legit game breaker in the backfield. Rylan Lerma (6-0, 265, Sr.) and Shamus Leeper (6-3, 290, Sr.) shore up the offensive line. Also look for Roman Rowland (6-3, 210, Sr.) in the slot and Pryce Burgess (5-11, 185, Sr.) at running back.
DEFENSE
The Bronco defense will lean on the play of the secondary and the linebackers early in the season as they look to build the defensive line around DI prospect Kaden Jones (6-3, 270, Sr.). Cut from the same cloth as other great defensive linemen at Mustang, Jones is a force inside and will face double-teams all season. Johnson will start at corner where he is a four-year starter while Trevor Price (5-10, 185, Sr.) and Zach Warren (6-1, 170, Jr.) will play safety. Also look for Zach Doran (5-11, 165, Jr.) in the secondary as this group appears to be the strength of the defense. Hudson Conrad (6-2, 200, Sr.) is an outstanding playmaker from his linebacker spot. Conrad reads and attacks with purpose. Qualan Perry (6-3, 175, Jr.) will likely play the opposite corner spot after transferring in from Putnam City. Caston “Bear” Meadows (6-1, 220) and Jaxon Bobbit (6-2, 195) are two strong, physical linebackers the Broncos look to this season for big plays.
