Throughout an athletic career, an athlete has the opportunity to make many memories with their teammates. Some may be on the court or field and others are away from the game. Dylan Snow is a junior at Yukon High School and his favorite moment was in his first game as a Miller.
“The highlight moment of my career was when I was in seventh grade,” he stated. “It was my first ever basketball game at Yukon and I dropped 21 points on Mustang. It was a really great feeling for a couple of reasons. First, it felt really good to score that many points in my first game. And the other was to do it against Mustang because they are our rivals and they do a lot of talking.”
Snow plays point guard for the Yukon boy’s basketball team and he dreams of playing at the next level. He knows that it takes a lot of work to be his best but he knows that is what it takes to reach his goals.
“I think my biggest motivation is to play basketball in college,” he said. “But to get there, it takes more than just wanting it. You have to get in the gym late at night or early in the morning instead of being with friends and staying out late. It is a lot of sacrifices but that is what it takes.”
While work has helped him get to where he is and where he wants to go, Dylan has had some outstanding influences on his life.
“My mom and dad have been role models for me,” he said. “They are always by my side and have given me a lot of opportunities. Also, my favorite teacher, Erin Regier, has helped me become a well-rounded person. Lastly, my brother has helped me to become a better man and I am thankful to have him in my life.”
Anytime that Dylan puts on his Miller’s jersey and steps out onto the court, he knows that he is representing his school and community.
“I am proud to wear the Yukon jersey,” he said. “It makes me feel like I’m playing for something other than myself and I have a lot more pressure to win.”
