LOGAN THOMAS
1-9
OFFENSE
Last season was a tough one for the Bulldogs, stumbling to a 1-9 record. But the squad has optimism as they head into a new and fresh season and head coach Logan Thomas says that this senior class brings a lot of experience to the table. “We return close to twenty starters from last year’s team,” Thomas said. “The staff has spent a full year together and we have our team identity fully in place. Our senior class is full of three-year starters and we expect their experience to be a game-changer for us.” Leading the Bulldog’s offense on the field will be quarterback David McComb (6-3, 205, So.). He had 1,500 yards passing and fourteen touchdowns a year ago and looks to continue that production this season. Joining McComb in the backfield will be running back Kiefer Mullins (6-0, 220, Sr.), who had 1,200 yards on the ground and added eight touchdowns last year. Playing at halfback is Camden Peck (6-1, 220, Sr.). He had 400 receiving yards last season along with four touchdowns and looks to play a bigger role this season. Tanner Wolfe (6-4, 210, Sr.) will line up at tight end and should be a big time offensive player this season for the Bulldogs. Last season, Wolfe had 350 yards receiving and four touchdowns but should see bigger numbers this season. Cole Grayson (5-10, 170, Sr.) looks to step up and have a solid season. Left tackle Will Morris (6-4, 260, Sr.) will be a key player on the offensive line.
DEFENSE
The Bulldog defense brings back some players that saw a lot of playing time last season and are ready to step up and have a bigger role this year. Leading the charge will be linebackers Markell Johnson (6-4, 205, Sr.) and Mullins. The duo combined for 143 tackles, four sacks, and four interceptions last season and are expected to make big contributions to this year’s squad. Taking care of things up front will be defensive end Robert Dunham (6-3, 250, Sr.) and defensive tackle David Gillespie (6-0, 300, So.). Dunham tallied forty-five tackles and ten tackles for loss last season, while Gillespie started five games as a freshman, which has given him the confidence to make a bigger impact this season. Patrolling the secondary will be cornerback Jeremiah Robinson-Pope (5-10, 175, Sr.) and safety Vincent Mitchell (5-11, 180, Jr.). Last season, they combined for sixty-nine tackles, five pass breakups, and two interceptions. They will be called on to make big plays and disrupt opponents passing games this season. Assistant coaches include Josh Allen, Kenyada Davis, Ryan McCaul, Grant Hill, Mkwai Williams, Seth Mead, Paul Andrie, Justin Merideth, Dustin Null, Nolan Looman, and Kendrick Warren.
