Edmond Memorial’s Camden Peck – “Talk of the Tailgate” presented by Taco Bueno

The Edmond Memorial Bulldogs have a plethora of excellent varsity football players. One player who coach Logan Thomas calls an unsung hero is Camden Peck. A senior, Peck is one of the more versatile players on the field.

“Camden starts at our most important position on offense, our H back. He aligns all over the field and is asked to block, catch, run, motion, you name it. He is a great kid and leader, who busts his tail in the weight room,” said coach Thomas. It’s easy to see why Peck is the “talk of the tailgate.”

When the lights come on, Peck is the type of player who steps up to the occasion. “Friday nights are so special for me because of the atmosphere in that stadium on a Friday night and the student section is always the loudest. Nothing else matters on a Friday night besides that game,” Peck said. “I love the brotherhood we’ve built over the years trying to overcome losses and just how close we all have become.”

Peck said one of his favorite moments came when his team scored a touchdown against rival Santa Fe to ensure they were crowned city champs.

Being a student-athlete at Memorial is also something special to Peck and his teammates.

“Memorial is a great place to go to school because of the school spirit the students always bring it no matter what the occasion,” said Peck.

Peck said there are many things he will miss about Memorial High and Friday nights.

“I will miss the emotion of a Friday night. In a Friday night anyone can win that game no matter the records and history of the teams,” Peck said. “I plan to go to college to continue my football career and get a degree in physical therapy.”
