Arden Griggs is a senior and a member of the 2022 state runner-up cheer squad from Edmond North High School. Their performance at the state competition made Griggs and her teammates the, “talk of the tailgate.”
Griggs, a three-year member of the team, competed in gymnastics for 13 years before starting her cheer career.
“Edmond North is a program that is so unique and unmatchable to any other school. We are more than just team that gets together to cheer on sidelines, we are family to each other. This team has the greatest support system and has the most humble and hardworking girls you could ever know. What I love about this team is how much love we show to each other,” said Griggs.
Competing at the state cheer competition is always a special moment. Just like being on the sidelines for the football games.
“Friday nights are moments that are unforgettable. Seeing all the supportive fans in the crowd! The community is what make’s Friday nights so special,” Griggs said. “Favorite moments at a game is definitely the celebration of all the fans and all the cheer leaders yelling and dancing their hearts out.”
Griggs said she plans to attend the University of Oklahoma next fall to pursue a degree. For now, Griggs said she is enjoying every minute of her senior year but will miss everyone when it comes to an end.
“I will miss the girls and the environment that Fridays nights bring,” Griggs said. “ENHS brings a light into everyone’s lives. They provide a place to feel welcomed and special.”
