Kylie Kramer and Kyron Pollard are both juniors at Edmond Santa Fe High School and have been voted as winners of the Oklahoma City Area Superfan Award sponsored by Raising Cane’s. The duo knows the importance of a school having great school spirit.
“Having school spirit is important,” Pollard said. “It creates a community around school clubs, teams, and activities.”
Kramer echoed her classmate’s thoughts and added that it helps people get excited about what the school is doing.
“School spirit makes school more fun,” she said. “It gets people excited about events and gets more people involved in activities.”
Double Wolf Dare Week is an event at Edmond Santa Fe High School that lets students have fun while also helping out different organizations.
“DWDW will always be one of my favorite memories,” Kylie said. “There are always so many fun events and we get to raise money for amazing charities. We have a lot of assemblies during the week and do things like boy bands, Mrs. DWDW, blacklight, teacher talent show, world record, and other stuff.”
Pollard agrees with Kramer and says that he definitely enjoys that week as well.
“My favorite memory at Santa Fe is raising money for local non-profit organizations,” he said. “Each year we do that through our annual philanthropy week called Double Wolf Dare Week.”
Pollard says that he has found his place at Edmond Santa Fe and he feels like everyone that attends there has that same opportunity.
“I love that there is truly a place for everyone at Santa Fe,” he said. “It really allows us as students to excel in everything we do.”
The thing that Kylie enjoys the most about her school is the various groups of people that make up the school.
“I really like that our school is so diverse,” she said. “A lot of people are very involved in school and that brings different groups of people together. It is so easy to get along with everyone there.”
