Eden Schroeder was raised around volleyball. She grew up watching her sister play on
club teams.
“Her club started having camps and clinics for younger kids and I eventually started
playing for them and have ever since,” says Eden. “I’ve spent almost everyday for the
past six years playing volleyball. It has given me something fun to do and focus on.”
As a junior at Carl Albert High School, Eden takes her responsibility of representing her
school seriously. “Carl Albert is known for being good. Whether it be football, swim,
tennis, or any sport. It’s a big responsibility,” she says.
Volleyball has taught Eden time management and the ability to work with others.
She loves being on a team because most of her best friends come from volleyball.
“Kailey Stuart and I met in 6th grade and have played together every year since. She’s
one of the best setter-hitter chemistries I’ve ever been with, she’s one of my biggest
fans.
“Addisyn O’hagan and I played our 16’s club season together and she became my best
friend. Even playing on opposite sides of the net in school ball, she’s never wanted
anything but for me to succeed,” said Eden.
Her favorite memory is beating Lawton Mac and Piedmont last season. “They were two
of our biggest competitions and I had friends from both teams,” she said.
Eden is most inspired by her sisters. “They’ve always set the best example for me and
been there for me when I needed someone,” she said.
Eden says she enjoys spending time with her family at the lake when they are not busy
with school sports. “My parents have always been at every single one of my games,
they’ve never made the sport feel like something I have to do, they always just wanted
me to have fun.”
