Christian Heritage Academy basketball player Tate Campbell is a crowd favorite and a player who has high expectations for himself and the team.
“We have had some controversy but are now starting to pick up our pace and get some key players back,” said Campbell.
The junior has set a personal goal of joining a special club as a varsity basketball player in Oklahoma while helping the team to post season play.
“I would like to hit the 1000-point mark and make the state championship,” said Campbell.
As a student-athlete at Christian Heritage Academy, Campbell said he enjoys the work on the court and the work in the classroom. Campbell is a member of National Honor Society, and his favorite subject is history and government.
“I love the small community and friends I am able to have through our team. My teammates are fun to be around and work hard all the time,” said Campbell. “I enjoy my history teacher Mr. Aaron Ferguson and his class is also my favorite along with his government class.”
Campbell has played basketball for 14 years and growing up on the court has taught him a lot. In fact, Campbell would like to pursue a career in coaching when his playing days come to an end. For now, he continues to work on his game and stays focused on making the most of every opportunity Christian Heritage has to offer.
“My most improved part of my game is my facilitating. I have been able to get the ball to our big in key moments or set others up to hit shots,” said Campbell.
In his free time, Campbell said he enjoys hanging out with friends and simply relaxing at home with his family.
