To experience a season like Buttram did in 2024, fuels the desire to continue to get better and see how far your talent can take you. Even though it may have looked easy at times, Buttram admitted there are some tough competitors here in Oklahoma.
“The toughest opponent I faced all year was Jude Randall. He was really skilled and pushed me to my limits. It was a challenging match, but it helped me grow as an athlete and taught me valuable lessons,” said Buttram.
Besides wrestling, Buttram played football for the Eagles, but for the past two seasons wrestling has become his focus.
“It’s great to have a well-rounded experience and be involved in different activities. It keeps me busy and allows me to explore different interests,” said Buttram.
Like many of his peers, Buttram is making plans for his future. A future that includes sports and college.
“After I graduate, I have big dreams and aspirations. I plan to go into college. I’m excited to explore new opportunities and continue pursuing my passions,” said Buttram.
Away from the mat, Buttram is like any other prep student-athlete when it comes to his free time.
“I enjoy playing video games and lifting. I think it’s important to have some downtime to relax and recharge. Whether it’s hanging out with friends, or pursuing my other interests, I always make sure to enjoy my free time to the fullest,” said Buttram.
