A member of the high school football team and the FFA chapter at Jones High School, Will Jasper is one busy student-athlete.
It was in middle school when Jasper first joined the FFA. Now he is entering his sophomore year of high school and he is excited to see what the year will bring.
“I first joined FFA my eighth-grade year but have been involved with showing and raising livestock since I was born and was also heavily involved with the local 4-H program,” said Jasper. “I joined FFA because my brother was in it and my parents were in it when they were in high school.”
There are many things about being in the Jones chapter that Jasper enjoys.
“My favorite thing in FFA is going to the numerous camps and conferences and getting to meet new people and making connections,” Jasper said. “I have been a chapter officer and am going into my second year as an officer. I do public speaking, livestock judging, leadership development, and I show livestock.”
When he’s not speaking or judging, you can usually find him in the ring showing his pigs. Jasper said the FFA has been a great experience and he encourages others to join.
“I would encourage them to get out of their comfort zones and meet as many people as they can and leave an impact wherever they go,” said Jasper. “I hope to go to OSU and join a BCM and be on the Oklahoma FFA officer team or the NJSA board. Then after college get a good job and be able to support a family.”
If being in FFA and playing football wasn’t enough, Jasper also served as Freshman Class President last year, but he loves playing football and being around his teammates.
“My favorite thing about being on the football team is the atmosphere and everyone’s mindset of having to work harder than everyone else to be the best.”
