When Carl Albert takes the field for baseball season, the team will be chasing their 8th state title and looking to defend their title from last season. One player excited to get on the field is senior Kash Ferris. Ferris has played baseball since the age of four and said the team is ready to defend their title.
“Our team is looking really good, we have a lot of veteran guys returning with experience and are hungry for another championship,” said Ferris.
Coming into the season, Ferris said he has continued to push himself and improve in areas that will help him be the best player possible for the Titans.
“The most improved area of my game is athleticism and strength, I put on 30 pounds over the summer, and it help me tremendously with velocity,” said Ferris.
Carl Albert has a tradition of competitive athletics. Players and coaches dedicate countless hours to being the best. It’s something Ferris loves about CHS athletics.
“The thing I love most about being a student-athlete at Carl Albert is being held accountable for everything and getting along with our coaches really well,” said Ferris. “My favorite thing about my teammates is we all enjoy being around each other and don’t get tired of being around one another.”
Classroom work is just as important and for Ferris, his plans for his future and set.
“My favorite subject is botany taught my coach Wilcox, he is my favorite teacher because he helps me in the classroom and in life,” said Ferris. “After I graduate, I will be going to Oklahoma State University to play baseball.”
Ferris is a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and enjoys working out and being with friends in his free time.
