2023 Westmoore Lady Jaguars Basketball Preview -Presented by Sun & Ski Sports

GIRLS

Coach: Kierra Lang

22-23 Record: 11-13

First-year head coach Kierra Lang is ambitious about the Jaguars’ outlook. “I’m excited to see this group of girls utilize team concept. When we play together, we are dangerous,” Lang said. “There is a substantial amount of talent on this team that becomes even better when they use those abilities for the team. This group of girls are learning how to move without the ball and learning those hustle plays matter.” The team has developed a new motto this offseason: “Lady Jags versus everybody.” Point guard Dadreanna Frost (5-8, Jr.) and combo Kiyah Prestridge (5-11, So.) were two of the conference’s most dangerous scorers last year, averaging 14.0 and 13.5 points per game, respectively. Frost also had 3.0 assists a game, while Prestridge added 8.0 rebounds and 3.0 steals. “[Frost] can take you off the dribble and knock down 3s if they back off. Her speed and agility is superb with a high IQ for the game,”

Lang said. “Kiyah can play any position on the floor and get the job done. She can guard, shoot and drive off the dribble. Very aggressive and hard worker. She lives in the gym.” Prestridge has offers from several mid-to-high-major universities, including Oklahoma State, Tulsa and SMU. Guard-forward Trinity Humphrey (6-0, Sr.) wasn’t far behind the others, averaging 12.0 points a night last year. She holds an offer from NSU. “[Humphrey] is a hard worker with a high IQ level for the game. She is the last to leave the gym after practice daily,” Lang said. “She is smooth off the dribble with a mid-range jumper and great finishes at the rim. She sees the floor really well and knows how to draw two defenders and find the open person with ease.” Nikki Langhans (5-7, So.) is known in the locker room for her tremendous work ethic. “She shows up to work every day with a smile on her face. She is vocal in every drill and always picking up her teammates if she’s not too out-of-breath,” Lang said. “She never leaves the gym without being drenched in sweat.”
