VYPE: What are you most looking forward to as you approach your senior fast pitch
season at Moore High School?
Chloe Williams: The thing I’m looking forward to the most this season is potentially going to state and close games.
VYPE: What do you think you add to the team? Why do the Lions need you to be
successful this season?
CW: I add spin as a pitcher. Spin can change a lot such as, ball movement, speed, batter’s eye, how the ball comes off the bat etc. I think this team needs me because you can’t play a game without a pitcher!
VYPE: Your senior year will be a success if __?
CW: My senior year will be a success if I have fun and don’t get too stressed about grades.
VYPE: What are you most proud to have accomplished so far in your varsity career?
CW: I’m most proud to have accomplished making it to State with the Varsity team. Sadly, I got hurt right before State, but I still loved cheering my team on!
VYPE: Which teammate, past or present, has had the greatest impact on you? Why?
CW: I wouldn’t single a teammate out as they have all had impacts in different ways but Haley Kruger [Senior from last year] had a large impact on me by making me feel welcome when I first joined the Varsity team.
VYPE: You mentioned your uncle introduced you to the sport at about 7 years old. How much credit do you give him for sparking your love for softball?
CW: I give my uncle and dad a lot of credit for sparking the love of softball for me as I have enjoyed playing it 10 years later and have family that also play softball.
VYPE: You also said you like to draw in your spare time. With school and softball, does art help you unwind from the chaos of your daily schedule?
CW: Drawing helps me distract my mind from stress and let my emotions out, that only I can look at the picture and see the emotion behind it.
VYPE: What opportunities has playing for your travel team, Gametime National 2024
Spain, given you? How grateful are you for that experience?
CW: The opportunities I have gotten from this team is unmatched, we travel, get seen by college coaches, bond, and learn at the same time.
VYPE: After high school, you want to pursue a degree in dentistry. Tell us more about
your future plans!
CW: I plan to start a dental assistant class during my senior year, play softball in college for 2-4 years, get a degree in biology, then proceed into dentistry school.
