9 Qs with Norman North’s Kaitlyn Webb – Presented by WO Rolloffs

By Payton Moody

VYPE:  Who has been your favorite coach throughout your career and how did they impact you as a player?

Kaitlyn Webb: My favorite coach has been Frank Prieto. He taught me everything I know about hitting. Also, my dad, who taught me all the fundamentals of the game. He’s one of my biggest supporters.

VYPE: Did you have any teammates that you admire or that supported you?

KW: Maggie Glasgow has been my biggest supporter at the plate. She always cheered me on and lifted me up.

VYPE: Who was your favorite teacher and how were they influential in your life?

KW: My favorite teacher was Mrs. Burnes. She always made sure I understood the material and would go out of her way to help me. She made me realize that I should never be too busy to help someone else. It’s one of the lessons I live by.

VYPE: What preparation have you taken this off-season to better equip yourself for the upcoming season?

KW: During off season I do agility training three days a week, hit three days a week, and hit the gym four to five days a week. Plus, I have really watched my diet. It takes more than just the physical aspect to be successful in a sport, it takes solo preparation.

VYPE: What has your sport taught you that you use in your daily life?

KW: Softball has definitely taught me discipline and how to communicate and work with all kinds of personalities. These traits will help me in my future endeavors.

VYPE: What has been your favorite memory in your sport?

KW: My favorite softball memory is playing in the championship game in Colorado with my travel team. We were down 12-2 and came back to win it in the International Tie-Breaker 16-15. It proved to me that it’s never too late for victory.

VYPE: What do you hope to accomplish this season (individual or team goals)?

KW: I hope to help our team make it to state for my senior year!

VYPE: What matchup are you most looking forward to this season?

KW: Norman North vs Norman High, it’s not a season without cross-town clash!

VYPE: What are your plans after high school?

KW: I am going to play at Seminole State and major in Biology. I haven’t picked where I will go or play after but eventually want to apply to medical school.
