VYPE: Your coaches call you a veteran leader on this year’s team. What does that responsibility mean to you?
Jesse Ledbetter: It’s a very important role and it means alot to be an anchor to help guide your team to have a winning season.
VYPE: You averaged over 17 points a game your junior year. Should we expect similar numbers this year?
JL: You should expect more! I’m hoping to average 20-25 points this year!
VYPE: What are some of the things you’ve focused on this offseason?
JL: A couple of things I’ve focused on are my court vision and passing, and my mid-range/floater.
VYPE: What are your personal and team goals for this season?
JL: My personal goal is to average 20-25 points and 5 or more assists! A big personal and team goal is making it to state.
VYPE: Do you consider yourself “under the radar” or “slept on?”
JL: Yes, I think I am slept on for sure. I feel like a lot of people don’t realize how good I am.
VYPE: What’s your favorite color?
JL: My favorite color is blue.
VYPE: Talk about your basketball upbringing. How were you first introduced to the game?
JL: I have two older brothers that played. I started on a church league when I was 5 and have always played since then for fun. I started to really take it serious in junior high and now it’s pretty much my life.
VYPE: We hear you have pretty strong kick game (and you even put coach Stogsdill on). What’s your go-to shoe?
JL: I have a couple of favorites. My go to shoes are KDs, Kyries, and Jordan 34’s.
VYPE: What are your goals and ambitions for the future?
JL: My main goal is to play basketball at the Division I level and to get a college degree.
