Varsity soccer player Austin Hurt is a senior this year at Southmoore High School. Hurt started playing soccer at a young age and said he’s continued to work on his game.
“I play striker/forward, and I’ve worked on playing in a different formation with two strikers this year,” said Hurt.
As a student-athlete at Southmoore High School, Hurt said he is focused on more than just scoring goals.
“What I love most about being a student athlete at Southmoore is representing my school with some of my closest friends. I am a part of the Student Leadership Athletic Committee,” said Hurt.
Being close to his teammates is one of many reasons why Hurt loves competing with this team and representing SHS on the field.
“What I love most about my teammates is that we are all close friends and enjoy playing together. We have a good squad this year and been working hard. We have big goals this season for playoffs and if we all work together should go far,” said Hurt.
Hurt is planning his future and his free time for the upcoming summer.
“My favorite subject is Multimedia Technology with Ms. Serowski. After I graduate, I will be attending Southern Nazarene University to further my soccer career and will be majoring in Sports Management. In my free time I like spending time with friends and family and play video games with my teammates,” said Hurt.
