Moore distance runner Aidan Jiminez shoots to break school records, run at the college level – Presented by Gregory’s Sporting Goods

Aidan Jiminez, a standout cross country and track & field runner at Moore High School, is a servant at heart.

Jiminez is a mentor through FUSE (Freshmen Using Senior Experience), a program which helps guide students through the first year of their high school experience by coordinating events like the freshman dance.

“I was invited to apply and once I applied, I went through an interview and got accepted into the program,” Jiminez said. “I like giving advice and guidance to people. It’s important to me as I think it’s an invaluable skill all throughout life.”

Jiminez is also a member of the National Honor Society.

“In my family’s and I opinion, academics can carry you far in life, so they’ve always been a top priority for us and have focused on heavily,” Jiminez said.

In the little spare time he has, Jiminez enjoys gaming. He plays popular games like Overwatch, Minecraft, Fortnite and Far Cry online with friends.

“This helps me bond with them as it gives me a different perspective on who they are,” Jiminez said.

Jiminez has lofty goals for his senior year running distance for the Lions, but if anybody has the work ethic and attitude to achieve them, it’s Jiminez.

“I’m going to break the school record this year, which is one of my personal goals,” Jiminez said.

“A team goal we have is placing top three at state. Both of these require that work be put in, which I think is being accomplished as my team and I have held each other accountable and put in hundreds of miles over the summer.”

Naturally, with his natural proclivity for academics and impressive times, college is a prospect for Jiminez.

“I’ve always wanted to run at the next level, which should be happening as I’ve been in serious conversation with many coaches,” Jiminez said. “I want to major in business as I’ve always been intrigued in analyzation and statistics.”
