Moore girls golf returns quartet from last spring – Presented by RibCrib

Kansas Wesleyan golf signee Kelsy Baker leads four returning players from last year’s Moore girls golf team.

“Kelsy is our lone senior leader of the team,” Moore golf head coach Ryan Dukes said. “She works hard at her game and that hard work has her getting a scholarship next year at Kansas Wesleyan. She has come a long way from her freshman year with her golf game becoming more consistent, improving her short game and learning how to manage the course.”

Sophomores Ava Fritts and Olivia Lee had outstanding debut years. Fritts hit a hole-in-one on her opening tee shot of the state tournament last spring. Lee barely missed the tournament as a freshman.

“Ava is one of the most talented golfers I have coached. Her ball striking and length off the tee is up there with some of the best golfers in the state. She has been working hard on improving her short game to take her game to the next level,” Dukes said. “[Lee] is a very promising golfer with a beautiful golf swing. She had some very good showing at tournaments last year.”

Macey Foreman, also a standout basketball and softball player, is a sophomore with an impeccable work ethic.

“[Foreman] brings that same drive to the golf course every day in wanting to improve and be the best she can be to help the team,” Dukes said. “Macey is on the quiet side, but don’t let that fool you. She doesn’t like to lose and doesn’t like to fail.”
