The Lady Lions volleyball team will take the court this season under the leadership of
coach Rachael Simmons. One middle blocker looking to have an outstanding season is
junior Jocelyn Thomas. Thomas is excited to see what the Lady Lions can do this season.
“I’m most excited to grow as a program. We have a lot of potential this season. What I love
most about this group is that we all close together, we hang out with each other all the time, and mostly we want the best for each other. We are all good friends and love seeing them every single day at school and practice,” said Thomas.
Volleyball is her first love, but Thomas is focused on her academics as well.
“My favorite subject in school was AP World History last school year. The teacher, Mr. Cherian, helped me to enjoy the class and he also was really funny. I would like to study either law or sports broadcasting in college,” said Thomas.
Also, a member of National Honor Society, STUCO, FUSE and Moore Love, Thomas had
nothing but good things to say about being a student-athlete at Moore High School.
“MHS is a great place to be an athlete because of the amount of support you get from
classmates, athletes, teachers, and coaches,” said Thomas.
The junior said the team is loaded with great players. She pointed to two that she’s excited
to see play with this season.
“Keep an eye on Lauryn Weber (libero), and Jaely Bell (freshman right side),” said Thomas.
